La Historia de Tegucigalpa, Honduras

El origen de Tegucigalpa, se remonta al asentimiento lenca en la época prehispánica. Con la llega de los europeros, se convierte en un real minas en 1578, y administrativamente es una Alcaldía Mayor. El 1762, se le otorga categoria de Villa y en 1821, se le nombra ciudad. Honduras se convierte en República el 7 de mayo de 1862 y esta ciudad en 1880 se le nombra Capital de esta República, sin embargo, en el año de 1937, se le agregó a la ciudad hermana de Comayagüela para formar el Distrito Central, hasta la actualidad.
